How to Care for Premium Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is one of the most durable and timeless materials for a premium kitchen. Its resistance to corrosion, heat, and daily use makes it ideal for appliances, worktops, sinks, and cooking surfaces. But even premium stainless steel needs the right care. A simple cleaning routine can help preserve its original appearance, prevent stains and grease build-up, and maintain the material’s long-term performance.

For daily maintenance, wipe the stainless steel surface after each cooking session or at least once a day with:

  • Warm water
  • A soft microfiber cloth
  • A small amount of mild dish soap when necessary

Wipe gently in the direction of the stainless steel grain, then rinse with clean water and dry completely.

Benefit: This removes grease, food residue, and moisture before they dry onto the surface and become more difficult to remove.

For visible fingerprints, cooking oil, or light grease, use a stainless-steel-safe cleaner approximately 2–3 times a week, or whenever the surface requires it. Apply the cleaner to the cloth rather than directly onto the appliance, then wipe along the grain.
Benefit: Regular cleaning keeps the surface bright, uniform, and free from oily residue without unnecessarily polishing the stainless steel.

For heavier grease or accumulated residue, perform a deeper clean once a week or according to the frequency of use. Use a dedicated stainless-steel cleaner that is suitable for the specific surface finish. Allow the cleaner to work according to the manufacturer’s instructions, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
Benefit: This helps prevent stubborn deposits and keeps the original finish looking refined over time.

Premium stainless steel is durable, but the wrong cleaning products can damage its finish.
Avoid:

  • Steel wool or abrasive scouring pads
  • Bleach or chlorine-based cleaners
  • Strong acids
  • Abrasive powders
  • Harsh oven or drain cleaners
  • Scrubbing against the grain

Chloride-containing products are particularly important to avoid because prolonged exposure can contribute to corrosion or surface damage.

After cooking : Wipe with damp microfiber cloth to remove grease & moisture

Daily : Mild soap if needed to prevents residue build-up

2–3× per week : Stainless-steel-safe cleaner to maintains appearance

Weekly : Deeper cleaning to remove accumulated grease

Whenever necessary : Dry thoroughly helps prevent water marks

The beauty of premium stainless steel lies in its ability to remain elegant while handling everyday cooking. With the right cleaning products, the right technique, and a consistent routine, stainless steel can maintain its finish and performance for many years.

For premium kitchens, good maintenance is not simply about keeping surfaces clean. It is about protecting the material, preserving the design, and extending the life of your investment.

Premium stainless steel does not require complicated maintenance. It simply requires consistent and appropriate care.

Clean regularly, use stainless-steel-safe products, wipe with the grain, and always dry the surface after cleaning.

A few minutes of care today can help your stainless steel remain beautiful for years to come.
